- Please EMAIL your nomination form to cmfanficawards@gmail.com (if emailing, you MUST include you screen name and what site it applies to e.g., ff.net, CM Fan Wiki, The Profilers, CMF Message Board CBS.com, etc). Please do not PM your forms to me; while this was allowed in previous years, because there are two of us modding this year, to ensure that there is no nomination tampering, the forms need to be available to all of us mods at the email above.


- Please read the rules before submitting a nomination ballot! Remember - you do not have to submit a nomination for every category.


Some general reminders from last year:

- When nominating for 'Best Portrayal of a Main Character', or 'Best Portrayal of a Supporting Character', please remember to include which character you think it is best portraying. Also, remember that 'Main Character` and 'Supporting Character' refers to the characters's role in the T.V. show, not in the fic. For a list of which characters are considered 'Main Characters', please refer to the 'category descriptions' post.

- When nominating for 'Best Author Team-Up', please remember that you are nominating a specific fic written by two authors - not just the authors themselves. We need a specific example of their work together, so please include a fic and link in your nomination.

- When nominating for 'Best Series', remember that a series means two or more fics written as sequels to each other. Though you're only submitting the link to the first fic in the series, a single multichapter fic does not qualify as a series by itself - there must be other sequels/prequels in existence.

- Double-check the category descriptions before submitting. I really don't want to have to throw out nominations because they didn't fit the requirements.


If you are uncertain about whether a specific fic/type of fic qualifies, please contact me and I'll try and clear it up for you! I'd rather you run it by me than having to throw out a nomination that didn't meet the requirements.


Note: When nominating, it is easy to consider only the most recent fics you have read, but please make an effort to look for your favourites from the entire year. These are awards for all of 2011, and the best results will come from presenting the top fics from the entire year.

PS: I sincerely apologize that this is AGES late and, ergo, for the lack of reminders about it...but my life is even shittier and more hectic than it was last year, so it kind of slipped my mind.  Not to mention that I had to rearrange things a little because people who were supposed to help me last year crapped out on me and I want to avoid a repeat of that.  But don't worry, you've still got the exact same amount of time for everything, it's just a little later than it should have been.  I promise to try very very hard to fix these issues for next year...assuming you guys still want me.

Well, you've all been patient, now it's finally time for the big reveal: the winners of the 2010 Criminal Minds Fanfic Awards!


A big thank you once again to everyone who participated, including those who pimped the awards on other communities and journals, and especially those who pushed themselves to get through the (extremely long) list of nominees! And another round of congratulations to the nominees themselves - even if you didn't happen to win this year, you're still terrific authors who provide a much appreciated service to the fandom. Keep doing what you're doing!


I'll post a breakdown of the votes in a separate post a bit later for those who are interested (I know not everyone wants to see that sort of thing). But for now, here are the winners you guys chose!

Voting


Now comes the fun part - voting! Below, you'll find the complete list of 2010 CMFFA nominations, separated by category. Fics are listed in alphabetical order to avoid bias. Ratings are posted next to each nomination, but PLEASE be aware of any additional warnings posted at the site of the fic. 'Slash' and 'Femslash' fics are noted in all cases except in the respective 'slash-' and 'femslash-' specific categories. If the nominated author has two accounts, or was nominated under more than one account, they are listed by both names whenever possible to avoid confusion.


When voting, keep in mind what it is you're looking for in each category. Re-read the 'category descriptions' post if you're unsure about what qualities you should be looking for in a particular fic. And don't be overwhelmed by the number of nominations - many of the authors/fics were nominated under multiple categores, and (just as with the nomination process) you don't have to submit a vote for each category if you don't want to. The voting period ends at 11:59 PM MST March 7th, 2011.


When you're ready to vote, click on the link that says "VOTE HERE" at the bottom of this post. You WILL BE REQUIRED include your screen name and what site it applies to eg., fanfiction.net, CM Fan Wiki, The Profilers, AO3, etc - as well as a link to your profile at that site - anonymous votes will not be accepted. PLEASE read the rules and FAQ before submitting your votes.


***Although every author listed below gave permission for their fics to be in the competition, they may be surprised to see themselves nominated for more fics/categories than they originally thought. As your notification message said, you were only informed of the first round of nominations you received.  So be sure to check out the whole list to see what all you ended up being nominated for. And even though the message indicated you were granting permission for all of your fics to be used in the competition, if any author sees one of their fics on the list that they DO NOT want to be included, email me IMMEDIATELY and I'll take it down.

** Although I tried to link only to the 2010 fics, some Best Author links may contain stories the author posted earlier or later than 2010. Remember that with the Best Author Overall and Best New Author categories, you are only taking into considerating the fics from 2010.


** Some fics have been reposted with the authors' permission and others may have been linked to newer journals for convenience, so if there's some discrepancy with the posting dates, rest assured that each of these fics has been checked for eligibility. Additionally, although fics in the Best Work-in-Progress category were incomplete as of December 31, 2010, some of them may have since been completed by their authors.


As difficult as it is, please try and base your voting on your honest opinions of the fics in each category, not your friendships with/personal opinion of the nominated authors. I know it's great when one of your friends wins something, but it's even greater when they win because they deserved to, and not because they have the biggest friends list.
